A few months ago, Pandev Law, LLC’s immigration law office received a certified PERM labor certification for an Elementary Special Education Teacher, the application for which was filed in June. The next step for the beneficiary is the filing of an I-140 petition and we will do it on their behalf. The beneficiary will then go through a process called “Adjustment of Status” which is necessary in order to acquire a green card.

If you want to learn more about the employment-based green card process, read our employment-based green card article.
If you are reading this, then your biggest question right now might be:
What is a PERM labor certification?
Here is an answer by our immigration lawyer:
To qualify for an employment-based green card, the employer must first obtain a certification from the US Department of Labor (DOL), called PERM, showing that there are no able, willing, available, and qualified US workers for the position offered to the foreign applicant. The PERM labor certification process has two main steps: first, the employer must obtain a prevailing wage determination from the DOL, and second, the employer must conduct a labor market test.
